2020-21

 1.Celebration of World Book Day: 

            In order to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of William Shakespeare, Department celebrated World Book Day through the conduction of Online Quiz Competition based on the evergreen literature of William Shakespeare.

 2. 159th Birth Anniversary of the first Indian Nobel Prize Winner author Rabindranath Tagore:

            Department also celebrated the 159th Birth Anniversary of the first Indian Nobel Prize Winner author Rabindranath Tagore through the conduction of Online Quiz Competition on Tagore’s literary contribution.

 3.One Day National Level Webinar:

            In order to celebrate World Refugee Day, and to study and critically evaluate the issue of refugee crisis, department organized One Day National Webinar on “Refugee Crisis: Past and Present” on 14th June, 2020. More than 310 participants joined the webinar.

Title: (Words for Today)

Objectives of the practice:

            1.To motivate students to improve their English vocabulary.

            2.To strengthen and develop English vocabulary of students 

            3.To help students to expel the fear of English language

The Context: The college is located in drought prone rural area. 100% students of the college are from rural and agricultural background. As a result their English is weak. The college takes special efforts to improve their English. Vocabulary is a Major problem of the students. To overcome this problem, the said practice is followed.

 13.Transfer of Knowledge to Society:

Department transfers its knowledge to society through the conduction of Social Activity given as follows:

  1. Learning through Teaching Activity:

The present Innovative Social Activity is carried by the Department. The major objectives of the department are as follows:

  1. To promote and encourage students to learn through teaching
  2. To acquaint students with the process of teaching in English language
  3. To contribute to society by transfer of knowledge.
  4. To help students to build their self-confidence and remove unnecessary fear of speaking in English language.
  5. To promote and inculcate interest and initiative qualities among students.

The Context:  Students at high-schools always love to learn new topics out of the prescribed syllabus. The topics given for the learning through teaching are completely depended on the useful communication skills.  

The Practice: Students are given units based on English communication skills for teaching at high-schools located in the vicinity of their homes. Before the actual teaching, students are helped to prepare a well teaching note and practice it. Any doubts related to the given topic are cleared. Further any mistakes or errors in the teaching are rectified. 

 14. Study Tour:

Departmental students visited Vijaypur historical location, Kudal Sangam Religious shrine (Confluence) and Aalmatti Dam in Karnataka on 12th Jan, 2019.
