Establishment: June 1969

 Introduction
 

The Department of History is as old as Raje Ramrao Mahavidyalaya itself. It organized in 1969 along with the college as a constituent part of it.it was a separate Department was set up in the College for the study of Ancient,Medieval and Modern History. Today, the Department runs by B.A. course. A semester and CBCS pattern is followed at the B.A. level. The Department also runs a Certificate Courses in ‘History of Jath State’, “Travel and Tourism” and Museology. The Department Under established in Museum of Historical Objects. Experienced faculty of the Department is devoted to research in their respective areas of specialization. The Department has always placed equal emphasis both on teaching and active research. The Department of History  has signed one  MoU with Jath Library, Jath.Faculties of the department are regularly participating in various academic activities. For Ex.workshops, conferences, seminars, symposiums, FDPs,training programmes etc.

The Department builds its students to ethics, transferable skill, employability and intellectual curiosity along with raising public awareness about the past knowledge.

Mission:

We are dedicated to promote and foster the Historical education through teaching and learning among students for the social development. To encourage and promote students for the study of Historical research wide range of career, transferable skill for the nation building.

AIM:

The Department of History endeavors to deliver new knowledge & produce students who are trained in History.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Develop the ability to explain core History terms, concepts, and theories and apply them to contemporary Political, social, economicand religiousissues as well as formulation and analysis of policy.
  • Demonstrate the ability to employ the “Historical way of thinking.”
  • Demonstrate awareness of global, historical, and institutional forces that affects Political, social, economic and Religious situations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collect, process and interpret data, including statistical inference.
  • Be able to use critical thinking skills within the discipline of history about historical matters.
